US Coast Guard Awards Bollinger Shipyards Two Fast Response Cutters

The US Coast Guard has exercised a contract option to award Bollinger Shipyards (“Bollinger”) two additional Sentinel-Class Fast Response Cutters (FRC). This announcement brings the total number of FRCs awarded to Bollinger up to 67 vessels since the program’s inception. To date, the US Coast Guard has commissioned 55 FRCs into operational service.

Silver Ships Delivers Four of Seven Coastal Fast Response Boats

Silver Ships has completed the construction and delivery of the first four coastal fast response boats (CFRB) under a contract award worth $6.12 million from the Naval Sea Systems Command. The vessels were designed and constructed as a part of the US Navy Foreign Military Sale (FMS) program and will benefit the NATO Navy, while the other three boats support a Central American Navy upon delivery. Each CFRB was inspected in Alabama and accepted by the Navy.

On April 22, 2024, the fourth submarine in the Type 218SG construction program was named at the thyssenkrupp Marine Systems shipyard in Kiel. The 250 invited guests included Boris Pistorius, Federal Minister of Defense, and Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security of the Republic of Singapore, as well as other high-ranking representatives from Singapore and Germany. The sponsor of the boat was Ms. Teo Swee Lian, sister of Teo Chee Hean.

ULA announced that it has signed agreements with Bollinger Shipyards in Lockport, Louisiana and Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. in Bristol, Rhode Island, to design, oversee and build a new ship to transport Vulcan rockets from the factory in Decatur, Alabama to the launch sites at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida and Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

Kraken Robotics Receives Orders for Subsea Security Equipment

Kraken Robotics Inc. (Kraken) announces that it has received an order for spares and sustainment of its KATFISH™ Mine Counter Measures (MCM) solution totaling $2.2 million. In addition, Kraken received orders for AquaPix® synthetic aperture sonars (SAS) totaling $1.5 million. These systems will be integrated to autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) from new navy customers for use in mine hunting and subsea infrastructure security applications. Customer details cannot be disclosed. Deliveries will occur in 2024.
