ULA announced that it has signed agreements with Bollinger Shipyards in Lockport, Louisiana and Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. in Bristol, Rhode Island, to design, oversee and build a new ship to transport Vulcan rockets from the factory in Decatur, Alabama to the launch sites at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida and Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

Maritime Partners, LLC (Maritime Partners), a leading provider of maritime financing solutions primarily focused on Jones Act vessels, has received a Design Basis Agreement (DBA) from the US Coast Guard for the M/V Hydrogen One towboat that includes e1 Marine hydrogen generator technology that will be utilized for the vessel’s power plant.
Kraken Robotics Inc. (Kraken) announces that it has received an order for spares and sustainment of its KATFISH™ Mine Counter Measures (MCM) solution totaling $2.2 million. In addition, Kraken received orders for AquaPix® synthetic aperture sonars (SAS) totaling $1.5 million. These systems will be integrated to autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) from new navy customers for use in mine hunting and subsea infrastructure security applications. Customer details cannot be disclosed. Deliveries will occur in 2024.
Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD), a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management, has been awarded a purchase order by HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division to deliver an FM PC2.5 STC common rail technology retrofit kit, which will upgrade existing PC2.5 STC engines currently installed on the US Navy’s San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ships.
On December 14, 2023, ST Engineering announced that its subsidiary ST Engineering Marine Ltd had secured a contract with the Singapore Ministry of Defence for the mid-life upgrade of the Formidable-class frigates for the Republic of Singapore Navy. Naval Group, as ST Engineering sub-contractor, will be continuing the partnership the two companies have started in 2000 with the Formidable-class frigates construction program.
Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT UK has been selected by Navantia UK to provide key systems to the UK Royal Fleet Auxiliary’s (RFA) three new Fleet Solid Support (FSS) ships. The new vessels will incorporate Quadome Naval 3D Air and Surface Surveillance Radar, Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems and Kelvin Hughes Integrated Navigation Bridge Systems (INBS).
Anschütz, as a leading global integrator of Warship Integrated Navigation and Bridge Systems (WINBS), was selected as the supplier of WINBS for the Australian Hunter-class frigates in 2021. At the end of 2023, the design and manufacturing contract for three ships and a land-based test system was placed. Anschütz, in partnership with Raytheon Australia, has now passed the System Design Review closure (SDRc).
The Manta Ray prototype uncrewed underwater vehicle (UUV) built by performer Northrop Grumman completed full-scale, in-water testing off the coast of Southern California in February and March 2024. Testing demonstrated at-sea hydrodynamic performance, including submerged operations using all the vehicle’s modes of propulsion and steering: buoyancy, propellers, and control surfaces.
