The MEYER Group, which includes NEPTUN WERFT in Warnemünde, is joining forces with the Belgian company Smulders to build offshore converter platforms at the Warnemünde site. To this end, they have the intention to jointly found the companies NEPTUN SMULDERS Offshore Renewables and NEPTUN SMULDERS Engineering, which will take over the design and manufacture of the platforms.
Oasis Marine has successfully transferred power through their Oasis Power Buoy to a Crew Transfer Vessel. This pioneering achievement paves the way for hybrid and fully electric vessels in offshore wind farms, as well as reducing maritime emissions by expanding vessel charging beyond ports and harbors.
To mark the end of the Future Energy Wales conference, where collaboration has been a central theme, Marine Energy Wales (MEW) and RenewableUK Cymru (RUKC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), outlining their commitment to work together to accelerate the clean transition in Wales.
Van Oord has been awarded two new offshore wind projects: Baltic Power in the Baltic Sea and Greater Changhua 2b and 4 in Taiwan. The contracts have a combined value of more than EUR 500 million. Once operational, the two offshore wind farms will deliver renewable energy to approximately 2.5 million households.
