Ocean Energy Europe Welcomes EDF to Its Board of Directors

Emmanuel Bouyge, Director of Innovation Projects at EDF will represent EDF on the Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) Board of Directors. EDF has been an early supporter of water and ocean energy.

EDF is the largest producer of low-carbon electricity in Europe and has been investing into various renewable energy technologies and projects via its corporate venture capital EDF Pulse Ventures. EDF continues in its ambition to double its share of renewable energies by 2030 and now looks to the future of ocean energy. EDF has the technical and innovation expertise to help the sector’s development toward full commercialization. Joining Ocean Energy Europe as a Lead Partner is a clear show of interest for innovative technologies with high potential such as wave, osmotic, floating and tidal.

Rémi Gruet, CEO of Ocean Energy Europe, warmly welcomed EDF to the growing team of Directors: “We are very happy to welcome EDF to our Board of Directors. This addition underscores the great strides ocean energy has made recently. EDF brings the weight of a long-time investor in Renewable Energy. Their expertise in innovative technologies and project development will be key as we take the next steps towards commercialization. I look forward to working with Emmanuel and the EDF team.”
