All American Marine (AAM) has delivered a cutting-edge 74-foot diesel aluminum hydrofoil catamaran patrol boat to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), complete with a full suite of quality NavNet TZtouch3 Multi-Function Displays (MFDs) from Furuno. Designed to enhance coastal and marine enforcement, the vessel will support CDFW's Law Enforcement Division in protecting the state's marine resources. This 74’ x 27.5’ catamaran is equipped for a variety of missions, including multi-day patrols, fishery enforcement, and dive operations, with capabilities to operate in adverse sea conditions.

Built to USCG standards, the vessel includes ample deck space, accommodations for up to 10 personnel, and critical features to support oceanographic research.

The selection of NavNet TZtouch3 is engineered to provide the CDFW total confidence in critical situations, providing unmatched control, safety, and reliability for everything from navigating through challenging waters to executing precise and efficient operations. The 16″ TZT16F and 12″ Hybrid Touch TZT12F displays deliver cutting-edge performance for fisheries enforcement officers, enabling rapid access to navigation, Radar, and real-time data. Their fast, responsive interface allows officers to monitor operations efficiently, whether tracking vessels or patrolling protected zones. Vital data like depth, speed, and wind are available on the FI70 Instrument Display at a glance. Also connected to the network is the 200WX Ultrasonic Weather Station, providing real-time updates on wind, temperature, and pressure. Reliable weather data is crucial to planning operations and maintaining safety during high-stakes patrols or emergency responses.

Ensuring continuous and effective Radar coverage is vital to CDFW operations, and the combination of Solid-State dome and open array Radar fills that need. The DRS4DNXT offers Fast Target Tracking for immediate close-range surveillance, while the powerful DRS25ANXT, equipped with a 6’ open array, provides long-range detection of vessels, giving CDFW an edge in identifying suspicious activities from a distance.

The DFF3D Multibeam Sonar provides wide 120° coverage, perfect for monitoring underwater activities and identifying marine structures in enforcement zones while contributing to CDFW’s mission of marine conservation. The electronics suite is further enhanced with the SCX20 Satellite Compass, improving the accuracy of Radar, NavPilot 711C Autopilot, and DFF3D Multibeam Sonar by delivering precise heading and position data.

These systems feed into an onboard PC running TimeZero Professional software from Nobeltec. Information from the Radar, Sounder, and the DFF3D Multibeam Sonar is available in TZ Pro, where the crew can view and plot their course on a selection of mega-wide Mapmedia charts from C-Map by Jeppesen. The advanced electronics package from Furuno is designed to equip her crew with the technology needed to ensure maximum operational awareness, efficiency, and effectiveness when monitoring marine zones, enforcing regulations, and protecting natural resources. The vessel features Teknicraft’s advanced dynamic hydrofoil system for improved fuel efficiency and stability, powered by twin Cat C-18 diesel engines, achieving a top speed of 27 knots. The boat is also equipped with a Teknicraft Rapid RHIB launching system for swift deployment and retrieval of its rigid hull inflatable boat.
