Kystdesign announces a significant expansion in cooperation with Omega Subsea Robotics. This is an important milestone in Kystdesign’s history, signing their largest contract ever. The delivery includes six complete ROV systems, which highlights the customer's strong trust in Kystdesign as their supplier.

“We are both grateful and honored to be awarded with such a contract. This would not have been possible without the efforts of our hardworking and skilled employees. We are proud to have proven ourselves worthy of this opportunity," says Tore Nedland CEO of Kystdesign AS.

The contract award includes delivery of four standard Constructor ROV systems and two brand new compact Constructor ROV systems. The systems will be delivered to Omega Subsea Robotics in three deliveries of two systems each, and all are to be completed by the end of the year. The ROV systems will be installed on selected vessels in the Solstad fleet. Omega Subsea will be responsible for the administration, crewing and operation of the ROV systems.

“We are looking forward to continuing our good cooperation with Omega Subsea Robotics,” adds Tore Nedland.

The development of the new compact version is currently in progress at the design stage. It will be a considerably smaller version of Kystdesign’s standard Constructor ROV, but with the same power and specifications. All ROV’s included in this delivery are powered with 220 horsepower and designed to operate down to ocean depths of 3000 m.

“We appreciate being challenged by our customers to further develop the design of our products. As in this case with Omega Subsea Robotics, our joined efforts resulted in development of a new ROV system. This new compact version can be operated from smaller scale vessels which in turn helps our clients reduce their emissions and cut costs. We anticipate that this design will be of interest to future clients as well,” says Åge Holsbrekken, CCO in Kystdesign AS.
