Fincantieri and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense have signed a €1.18 billion contract, within the framework of collaborative relations initiated by the Italian Ministry of Defense, for the supply of two PPA Units. PPA is a highly flexible ship with an outstanding technological standard. Chantier Davie Canada Inc. (Davie) announced it has been awarded its first National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) contract by the Government of Canada for the design of the six-ship fleet of Canada’s future Program Icebreakers. Ancilia, SEA’s highly modular and flexible maritime countermeasures solution, has been selected by the UK’s Ministry of Defense to provide Electronic Warfare Countermeasures Increment 1a (EWCM 1a) to the UK Royal Navy. The steel cutting of the first third-generation French SSBN took place at Naval Group’s shipyard in Cherbourg on March 20th. This symbolic gesture marks the start of hull production for these submarines which will ensure France's nuclear deterrence posture until the end of the 21st century.
