The maritime security landscape is evolving rapidly. Unmanned systems are increasingly becoming a decisive factor for armed forces, authorities, operators of critical infrastructure, and the offshore industry. They extend range and endurance, provide precise situational awareness, and at the same time protect personnel from hazardous operational environments. Whether in mine countermeasures, port and coastal protection, safeguarding offshore energy assets, seabed monitoring, or environmental monitoring—the need for robust, integrated solutions above and below the waterline is growing steadily.

The Gabler Group combines the expertise of four specialized maritime technology companies to address these needs. GABLER, SubCtech, Develogic, and offer integrated solutions in a unique center of excellence for unmanned maritime defense and security. Together, they cover the entire maritime domain and provide modular, interoperable technologies—from energy systems and sensor solutions through to AI-driven data analytics.

TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE FOR UNMANNED MISSION CONCEPTS

The technological foundation is provided by GABLER, with over 60 years of experience in the military underwater vehicle domain. The company’s mast systems and related components, deployed worldwide, are in service on submarines of more than 25nations. This broad operational footprint underpins current developments in unmanned mission concepts. The focus includes smaller manned and unmanned platforms such as UUVs and AUVs, submarine-launched unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) for reconnaissance and effect delivery, as well as interface solutions enabling existing torpedo tubes to be used as cost-efficient launch systems for autonomous sensors and effectors.

ENERGY & MONITORING FOR LONG, RELIABLE MISSIONS

SubCtech provides the energy and monitoring backbone for long-duration unmanned missions across defense, offshore, oil &gas, and marine environmental monitoring. Its portfolio includes lithium ion battery systems for AUVs and UUVs, power supply solutions for distributed sensor networks, and mobile monitoring systems. Development and production follow recognized industry standards such as API 17F and relevant MIL-STDs; battery systems are tested in accordance with UN 38.3. This technological maturity, proven in demanding offshore applications, ensures high reliability and operational safety, enabling extended mission durations, repeated reconnaissance missions for mine threat detection, and the acquisition of mission-critical environmental and situational data around sensitive maritime infrastructure.

SENSORS & COMMUNICATION FOR COVERT SURVEILLANCE

Develogic complements the technology stack with underwater communication solutions, including those for autonomous monitoring systems. This creates covert, distributed sensor networks that consolidate data from stationary nodes, mobile unmanned platforms and existing systems. The result is a comprehensive situational picture for mine countermeasures, port security, offshore installations, and environmental monitoring—a decisive advantage for navies, authorities, and operators of critical infrastructure.

DIGITAL INTELLIGENCE FOR RAPID, INFORMED DECISIONS

ultimately transforms large amounts of data—“Ocean Big Data”—into reliable decision-making foundations. Based on a cloud-native, AI-driven analytics platform, the company delivers scalable solutions for processing large datasets from unmanned systems and subsea infrastructure. This provides the basis for connected, unmanned maritime operations.
