The OSW Power-to-X Summit, happening in Houston on August 24, will delve into offshore wind energy’s ability to power green hydrogen and green ammonia production and other utility-scale power demands.
Market demand for green hydrogen production, green ammonia production, and other alternative fuels is growing quickly as all industry sectors respond to the need for greener fuel sources. The inaugural Summit, sponsored by DNV and Shell, will include discussions about financial considerations, regulation, and the many new business opportunities this demand will create. Attendees will hear from offshore wind professionals at the industry’s top companies and organizations, including Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, Shell, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and more. Sessions will cover topics such as strategies for green hydrogen production, permitting for alternative offtake methods, and the possibility for offshore wind energy to create alternative fuels for heavy vessels.
“Embracing the new frontier of alternative offtake mechanisms for offshore wind will be critical to the success of the US energy transition,” said Liz Burdock, founder and CEO of the Business Network for Offshore Wind. “By embracing these technological advancements, the industry can bolster the offshore renewables supply chain, creating sustainable, well-paying jobs and revitalizing communities across the country. This Summit will foster important conversations and further establish the future for offshore wind in the US.”
