The Carbon Trust has announced that Shell Global Solutions International BV has officially joined the Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA), the Carbon Trust’s collaborative RD&D programme, further demonstrating its commitment to the energy transition.

On Friday, June 15th, the United States Department of Energy (DOE) announced the award of a US$ 18.5 million grant to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to establish the National Offshore Wind Research and Development Consortium. The Consortium will advance the cost-effective and responsible development of offshore wind in the United States.
Equinor is awarding new service contracts to Baker Hughes Norge, Halliburton AS and Schlumberger Norge AS for integrated drilling and well services on most of the Equinor-operated fields on the Norwegian continental shelf. Initially awarded for four years, the contracts have a total estimated value of some NOK 30 billion.
Work has commenced to expand Tangguh LNG plant in Indonesia, which has been operated by BP Berau Ltd since 2009. The addition of a third train will increase liquefaction capacity of LNG by 3.8 million tonnes per year, which also leads to an expansion of the marine export facility and construction of a second LNG jetty.
On the World Oceans Day, 8 June, Equinor stepped up its leadership in promoting long-term ocean well-being. Equinor is a founding patron in the United Nations Global Compact Action Platform for Sustainable Ocean Business. The action platform is launched on June 8, World Oceans Day, at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Since its launch, FORESEA has increased real-sea testing activity in the ocean energy sector. Ten projects have hit the water at European test centers with FORESEA support, with more to come in the next 18 months. To mark this success, a drinks reception will be held at ICOE2018 on Wednesday 13 June.
