GE Vernova and Seatrium Consortium Awarded Additional HVDC System Contract from TenneT

GE Vernova Inc. and Seatrium Limited (Seatrium) have announced that, they have been awarded a third contract by TenneT TSO B.V. (TenneT) for the construction of a 2-gigawatt (GW) High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) electric offshore transmission system in the Netherlands. The project is slated to begin in June 2024, with commissioning expected by 2031.

First Monopile of Îles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier Offshore Wind Farm Installed at Sea in France

Ocean Winds, the international company dedicated to offshore wind energy and created as a 50-50 joint venture by EDP Renewables and ENGIE, confirms DEME’s installation vessel Innovation has successfully installed the îles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farm’s very first foundation. Arriving in the Port of La Rochelle on May 26, the vessel set sail for the project area loaded with two monopile foundations and two transition pieces, which will then be used to attach the mast to the foundation. After a 10-hour crossing, the Innovation arrived at the construction site on May 29. Laying of the first foundation then began, following a series of carefully planned steps to ensure safe and efficient installation of the equipment:

CIP and Vattenfall to Collaborate on Dutch Offshore Wind Project

Zeevonk, a joint venture of Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) through its Energy Transition Fund, has been awarded a permit to build wind farm IJmuiden Ver Beta in the Netherlands. This 2 GW offshore wind project will include a 50 MWp floating offshore solar farm on site and a new electrolyzer at the Port of Rotterdam which will convert electricity of IJmuiden Ver to green hydrogen.
