Launching this month in the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) – the Global Free Zone of the year – the new office is DiveSource’s first outside its global headquarters in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. Sarah Hutcheon, Managing Director at DiveSource, said: “With an increasing number of contracts coming from clients in the Middle East and Far East, there is a compelling business opportunity for DiveSource to expand operations into this region.
“With the resources on offer in the United Arab Emirates, we are now on a truly global stage. We are ideally positioned to service clients and build relationships throughout the Middle East, Malaysia and Africa, and we are already working alongside several operators and subsea contractors in the region.”
The news comes following the recent announcement of the company’s collaboration with DRIFT Offshore, the specialist recruitment, training and ROV services company.
The organisation’s diving & ROV technical authorities and skilled advisors are already collaborating with clients to help control risk, identify opportunities and improve operational safety.
Sarah added: “Successfully exporting our business model, while preserving our reputation as a provider of high-quality subsea consultancy solutions, was a challenge we were more than able to rise to during this exciting period of expansion.”
Steve Ham, Commercial Manager at DiveSource, said: “By basing our first overseas facility in Dubai, we can now bring the high level of customer service we are known for in Europe to these markets more effectively.
“Our direct involvement in new and existing projects throughout the Middle East and Far East will make our service offering far more accessible – and we’re glad to be underway.”
DiveSource operates across the oil & gas, offshore wind and utilities sectors to provide training, personnel, competency and due diligence services.
It assists clients throughout the entire project lifecycle; from planning, initial survey work to site preparation, installation, and inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) programmes to decommissioning.
Earlier this year, DiveSource completed the Wind Energy Support Toolkit (WEST) scheme, providing a solid base for the company to grow its business offering in the offshore wind sector.
