Historically, Argentina has been primarily focused on industrial and agricultural activities, with only a few small industries and businesses connected to the ocean—despite having one of the largest continental shelves in the world.
Patagonia is renowned for its rich marine biodiversity, ecotourism opportunities, and its proximity to Tierra del Fuego and Antarctica.
The region is also rich in energy resources and minerals—both onshore and offshore—and is home to a robust agricultural and agro-industrial sector, factors that favor rapid and sustainable industrial development across Patagonia.
However, given the region’s unique ecological characteristics and sensitivity to environmental changes, it is crucial that industrial expansion occurs in close collaboration with scientific research and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
CIMA has chosen to partner with the German/South American marine technology manufacturer Mariscope to launch this enterprising initiative. While Blue Economy Days is primarily being driven by a private organization, it also seeks to include participants from various sectors, including private enterprises, industry representatives, scientists, NGOs, and government organizations.
The three-day event will feature both international and national speakers who will provide insights into current and future developments, investment opportunities, political plans, projects, and funding options for both large enterprises and small to medium-sized businesses (KMUs).
For more details about the event, please visit CIMA Patagonia’s website. Direct contact with the organizers can also be made through email. Additionally, the event will be available for online streaming.
