The new offshore office is located at Korenmaat 4, in Assen. The key positions of the offshore team at the new location will be filled from February 2024 by Steffan Faber as Project Manager, Menno Herder as Technical Specialist and Selma Heikamp as Commercial Assistant. Together, they bring 27 years of commercial experience, 9 years of project management and 23 years of technical expertise. Marcel Talsma is the branch manager and contact person for future projects.
“The opening of our office in Assen marks a significant milestone for Omexom Offshore,” says Dirk Warnecke, Managing Director of Omexom Renewable Energies Offshore. “With this strategic move, we are not only able to better serve our existing customers in the region, but we are also optimally positioned to capitalize on the growth opportunities in the Dutch offshore market.”
Growth strategy and focus on the Benelux countries
Omexom Offshore wants to strengthen its presence in the Netherlands and meet the challenges of the planned growth by 2030. The Netherlands is planning a tenfold increase in installed offshore wind capacity and Omexom is determined to play an active role in this.
The location in Assen was chosen not only because of its central location, but also in view of the planned development of Groningen into an energy hub with numerous cooperation initiatives for the Netherlands. Thanks to its local presence, Omexom can not only offer customized solutions for the Dutch market, but also guarantee optimal support from local staff.
Outlook and prospects until 2025
Omexom Offshore’s focus on the Netherlands will initially be on maintenance activities and project management. “We see great potential for sustainable cooperation and would like to make our contribution to the successful implementation of the offshore energy goals in the Benelux countries,” concludes Dirk Warnecke.
