Building on SEAmagine’s 30-year legacy of fully electric submersibles, this partnership unites two companies committed to sustainability and operational excellence. Together, they aim to set a new benchmark for safe, efficient, and unforgettable passenger experiences at sea.

SEAmagine and Brim Explorer will present this catamaran design concept at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, offering a vision of sustainable, high-end ocean access.

A Platform for Above and Below the Surface

Drawing on Brim Explorer’s proven track record of operating hybrid-electric sightseeing vessels in Norway, the catamaran combines cutting-edge propulsion with SEAmagine’s expertise in submersible integration. It can operate fully electric for day trips of up to 150 km, or in hybrid mode for extended multi-day charters and expeditions.

“This project combines our submersible expertise with Brim Explorer’s experience in electric vessels, resulting in a concept that makes it easier and more comfortable than ever to explore the deep sea with minimal environmental impact,” said Charles Kohnen, Co-Founder and Chairman of SEAmagine.

“We wanted to create an expedition vessel that opens the door to the ocean’s hidden treasures in a sustainable way, while giving guests a unique and luxurious experience,” added Espen Larsen-Hakkebo, Founder and CTO of Brim Explorer.

At the heart of the design is an integrated launch and recovery ramp that eliminates the need for cranes or A-frames. This system enhances safety and efficiency, allowing SEAmagine submersibles to be deployed even in moderate sea conditions. The stern section also houses a dive garage, gear storage, compressors, and maintenance areas to enable seamless scuba and submersible operations.

Luxury Meets Expedition

Designed for 10 to 12 guests in five double cabins, the SEAmagine–Brim Explorer delivers a boutique-yacht experience. Panoramic lounges, an observation deck, and inviting social spaces provide the ideal setting for dive briefings, post-dive relaxation, or enjoying sunset views. Dedicated storage supports professional photography and videography.

A professional crew of eight, five marine crew, plus three dive and submersible specialists, ensures expert guidance and seamless guest support, whether snorkeling reefs, diving wrecks, or venturing into the deep ocean aboard a SEAmagine submersible.

Compact, Yet Capable

Though smaller than large expedition ships, the SEAmagine–Brim Explorer is designed for maximum versatility. It can function as a self-sufficient charter yacht or as a support vessel for superyachts. With speeds up to 19 knots, silent electric cruising, and modular functionality, it redefines expedition flexibility.
