Vineyard Wind, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables, a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), today announced that Jan De Nul Group, together with its subcontractor JDR Cable Systems part of the TFKable Group, had been selected to supply and install the roughly 130 miles of inter-array cables for the Vineyard Wind 1 project. The 66kV inter-array cables connecting 62 GE Haliade-X turbines will transfer electricity to an offshore substation for transmission to the grid.

CRP Subsea (formerly Trelleborg Offshore UK) has been awarded two contracts by Ørsted to provide NjordGuard, a cable protection system, for the Borkum Riffgrund 3 and Gode Wind 3 offshore windfarms to be located in the German North Sea. CRP Subsea will provide 223 NjordGuard monopile entry cable protection systems, which will protect all the array cables on both projects.
Prysmian Group has been awarded a contract worth a total of around €140 million by the Turkish utility TEIAS for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of two high-voltage submarine power cable links, one between Europe and Asia, the other across the Izmit Gulf in Asia. The official contract signing ceremony is expected within June, followed by an immediate notice to proceed. The completion of both contracts is expected by 2023.
