Pioneer Consulting, the full-service submarine fiber optic telecommunications consulting and project management company, announces it has been contracted by the Zemax-Planova Consortium to provide expertise related to the various oil and gas (O&G) aspects of the Petrobras Malha Óptica project in Brazil.

Submarine Networks World (SNW), the largest annual gathering of subsea communications leaders in the world will once again convene in Singapore on September 7-8, 2022. This is the first in-person edition of the event since 2019 and marks the first time that the subsea communications community has been able to gather at scale since the pandemic.

JDR, the global subsea cable supplier and servicer, owned by the TFKable Group, has been awarded a contract by Seaway 7 ASA to supply 66kV subsea array cables for the EnBW He Dreiht offshore wind farm in Germany.

NEC Corporation has been contracted by Seren Juno Network Co., Ltd., a company established by NTT Ltd Japan Corporation, PC Landing Corp. Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and JA Mitsui Leasing, Ltd. to build a trans-Pacific subsea fiber-optic cable, "JUNO Cable System," connecting California in the US with Chiba prefecture and Mie prefecture in Japan.

Prysmian Group, a world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, has been awarded two contracts worth approximately €250 million by Red Eléctrica (Red Eléctrica de España, S.A.U.), the Transmission System Operator of the Spanish power grid, for the development of  two projects: a submarine power interconnection between the islands of Tenerife and La Gomera, and another submarine power interconnection between the Spanish mainland  and Ceuta (a Spanish city on the north coast of Africa).

CRP Subsea was awarded a contract by Seaway 7, the renewables business unit of Subsea 7, to provide 140 NjordGuard cable protection systems and bellmouths for Changfang and Xidao (CFXD) offshore wind farms located off the west coast of Taiwan.

JDR Cable Systems (JDR), the global subsea cable and umbilical supplier and servicer, part of the TFK Group, has reached final agreement under the UK government’s Offshore Wind Manufacturing Scheme (OWMIS) on financial support for its new state-of-the-art subsea cable manufacturing facility in Cambois, near Blyth, Northumberland.

MacArtney Canada, working for an unnamed defense organization, terminated two 500m electro-optical-mechanical (EOM) cables for a towed subsea system.

Koil Energy Solutions, Inc. (Koil), formerly known as Deep Down, Inc., an international specialist in subsea energy equipment and services, announces the receipt of an order to provide cable management services for a military project in the northern half of the United States.

The Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH) and Ocean Networks announced the award of its RFP for Cable Landing Station (CLS) Site Surveys to Ocean Networks, Inc (ONI). The notice to proceed was issued on May 23, 2022.

WIND, a Dutch subsea cable specialist, has signed a framework agreement with TenneT for the provision of cable transfers and cable storage for offshore spare export cables.
