The new premises, located in the global subsea hub Westhill, are a decision made by the company to accommodate its forecasted expansion of the team and provide a workspace conducive to collaboration with a focus on reducing project cost and risk. The move underlines Subsea Micropiles’ commitment to the region and accommodates the anticipated headcount growth, expected to increase by a further 50% in 2026.
The office will serve as a strategic base for the company’s engineering, operations, and project delivery teams, allowing it to better serve clients in offshore energy, renewables, and infrastructure markets.
David Watt joins the company as Chief Operations Officer as Subsea Micropiles prepares for commercial projects and builds local manufacturing capacity as the business scales.
David joins from Global Gases Group, where he most recently served as Director UK and Group Operations, bringing a strong track record in driving operational excellence across several global organizations.
In addition, Mark Williamson will take on the role of Chief Commercial Officer after successfully guiding the business through a period of significant growth. Mark has over 30 years of experience, delivering a broad range of innovative and commercial growth projects.
“We are delighted to mark this milestone in our journey,” said Derek Robertson, CEO of Subsea Micropiles. “The move to Westhill reflects both our recent growth and our confidence in the future. This new office gives us the space and resources to expand our capabilities, attract top talent, and stay close to many of our key clients and partners.”
New CCO, Mark Williamson, also added, “We see interest growing for our flexible solutions in oil and gas, offshore renewables, and marine infrastructure projects, as they focus on project cost and risk. I look forward to now concentrating on working with stakeholders to address the challenges of cost, schedule, and scale.”
Subsea Micropiles continues to build on its reputation with operators for developing scalable, robust, and cost-effective solutions for a broad range of seabed and load conditions. The new office and strengthened leadership team mark an important step in their commitment to continued support to help the industry achieve its goals.
