GBM Works is ready to take the next step in offshore wind installation. With Vibrojet®, the company offers a quieter, faster, and more efficient solution for the installation and removal of offshore wind foundations.

In recent years, GBM Works has successfully demonstrated silent installation through both extensive testing campaigns and offshore operations at the Hollandse Kust West project. These achievements mark an important milestone in bringing the technology from validation to commercial readiness.

Proven Performance in the Field

Key results from recent projects include:

  • Installation using predefined vibration and jetting parameters consistently achieved the target depth, providing strong validation of the Fluidflow® prediction model
  • Real-time monitoring of operational parameters, such as installation speed and inclination, enabled continuous optimization during installation
  • Installation times averaged around 45 minutes, demonstrating the efficiency and scalability potential of the Vibrojet system
  • Noise mitigation measures were not required, with operations remaining well within environmental limits

Erik de Man, CTO of GBM Works: “What sets Vibrojet apart is not only its performance in the field, but our ability to accurately predict that performance. By combining real-time monitoring with our Fluidflow model, we can control and optimize the installation process in a way that was not possible before. This gives us the confidence to scale towards commercial offshore projects.”

Preparing for Commercial Deployment

To ensure readiness for large-scale offshore deployment, GBM Works has taken significant steps towards commercialization:

  • In collaboration with Ramboll, a monopile concept design for a 15 MW turbine has been developed, showing a potential reduction of 25 tonnes of steel without exceeding fatigue limits
  • Engagements with monopile manufacturers and potential jet ring suppliers have resulted in strong interest in collaboration towards commercially viable large-scale installation solutions
  • Multiple suppliers of offshore feedline systems and vibro technology have expressed their intent to partner with GBM Works on upcoming commercial projects, enhancing operational and logistical efficiency
  • GBM Works has initiated an R&D program to extend Vibrojet applicability to more challenging soil conditions. The results will be demonstrated in a full-scale demonstration project planned for 2028, for which a consortium is currently being formed

Looking Ahead

With proven performance, validated models, and a strong ecosystem of partners, GBM Works is ready to support the next generation of offshore wind projects with the next generation jetting solution—true to our philosophy: we let water do the work.

As a frontrunner in this innovation, we challenge regulators and authorities to further raise the bar on ecological standards for offshore wind farms.

Govert Meijer, CEO of GBM Works: “We believe silent installation with jetting will become the new standard in offshore wind. With the results achieved so far, we are ready to support the industry in accelerating the energy transition. Together with our partners, we are making quieter and more efficient offshore installation a reality.”
