CoreMarine announced the proposed renewal of the CoreIntegrity license for Vår Energi’s Goliat FPSO, marking the next chapter in a long-standing partnership focused on safer, smarter, and more resilient offshore operations.

The renewal reflects how digital integrity management has moved from a monitoring function to a strategic operational capability, supporting real-time decisions, reducing uncertainty, and strengthening confidence in asset performance.

“Over the past years, CoreIntegrity has become embedded in how the Goliat FPSO operates day to day, said Hale Korkmaz, CoreMarine Lead Project Manager. “It’s no longer just about monitoring moorings—it’s about enabling faster decisions, preventing issues before they escalate, and giving operations teams continuous confidence in the integrity of a critical offshore asset. This proposed renewal recognizes the measurable value delivered and the even greater potential ahead.”

From Monitoring Tool to Operational Backbone

During the current license period, CoreIntegrity has played a central role in strengthening the reliability, transparency, and performance of the Goliat FPSO’s mooring system. Through close collaboration between engineering and operations teams, the platform has evolved into a fully integrated decision—support environment.

Key outcomes include:

  • Stronger Mooring System Integrity: CoreMarine worked closely with Vår Energi to refine tension verification methodologies, address legacy load cell inconsistencies. This included structured calibration campaigns, data validation exercises, and comprehensive system review programs. The result is a more consistent, traceable, and technically defensible integrity framework for mooring load monitoring and fatigue assessment.
  • Continuous Improvement Aligned with Offshore Operations: CoreIntegrity has been developed through structured six-month update cycles, informed by operational feedback from both offshore crews and onshore technical teams. Enhancements have been implemented in close dialogue with end users, ensuring the system evolves in line with real operating conditions rather than predefined assumptions.
  • Centralized Asset Intelligence: CoreIntegrity now acts as a unified digital hub, integrating wave radar, draft sensors, and supporting documentation. Giving teams immediate access to calibration records, release notes, and system data in one environment.
  • More Intelligent Alarm Management: Enhanced analytics detect uneven mooring load distribution automatically, improving early warning capability and supporting proactive intervention.

The new approach to tension verification brings meaningful improvements in efficiency and cost, while also reinforcing operational reliability and the long-term integrity of the asset.

Together, these developments have positioned CoreIntegrity as a trusted platform for continuous mooring integrity assurance, helping reduce operational risk while improving efficiency and predictability.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Capability and Strategic Value

The proposed renewal includes a forward-looking development roadmap aligned with Vår Energi’s long-term operational strategy. Planned enhancements include:

  • Regulatory compliance framework aligned with NORSOK standards, supporting the long-term ambition to significantly reduce, and potentially eliminate, traditional tension verification campaigns
  • Riser monitoring module
  • Enhanced survey interface to support faster, more informed re-tensioning decisions
  • Automatic model calibration enabling real-time system updates during operations
  • Expanded historical analysis and improved fatigue tracking methodologies
  • Fleet-wide deployment readiness, enabling scalable implementation across additional offshore assets
  • These developments are designed to extend CoreIntegrity’s role from asset monitoring to enterprise-level integrity management.

Enabling The Next Phase of Digital Integrity

“Digital integrity management is becoming a defining capability for modern offshore operations,” said Ben Fitzgerald, CEO of CoreMarine. “With CoreIntegrity now mature, scalable, and operationally proven, the focus shifts from system performance to strategic impact. We’re ready to support Vår Energi not only at Goliat, but across their broader asset portfolio as they continue setting new standards for offshore integrity and performance.”

The ongoing collaboration between CoreMarine and Vår Energi demonstrates how engineering expertise combined with digital intelligence can transform offshore asset management. With the proposed license renewal, both companies are positioned to further enhance safety, optimize performance, and extend the operational life of critical infrastructure in the years ahead.
