This is a repeat order from the client, which has already deployed a significant number of Orbit’s systems.
The systems, which will provide the fleet with continuous broadband satellite connectivity, are expected to be delivered during 2023-2024.
“We are proud of these important orders from this repeat customer, which already operates hundreds of Orbit SATCOM marine systems,” says Daniel Eshchar, CEO of Orbit. “These systems have excellent performance and a very high level of reliability and availability. Such an order confirms and emphasizes the technological advantage of our satellite communication systems, which are among the most advanced in the world, and strengthen Orbit’s technological leadership in satellite communication systems in general, and for advanced navies in particular.”
About the OceanTRx systems
The OceanTRx systems are based on the OceanTRx platform, but with additional advanced military features. These satellite communication systems are intended for use on marine platforms, supporting a variety of antenna system configurations. With a diameter of 1.15 meters for the OceanTRx4 MIL and 2.2 meters for the OceanTRx7, the systems operate on X, Ku, Ka and C frequencies, and enable simultaneous operation of a variety of frequencies for global activities. Both OceanTRx systems can be connected to a unique Orbit switching matrix (OSM) which enable multiple internal connections and switching of up to eight antennas and eight modems, according to the customer’s requirements. Designed for quick and convenient installation, maintenance and upgrade, the systems provide defense customers with a combination of exceptional RF performance and availability.
