MMA has been awarded a multi-year contract for the high-specification platform supply vessel MMA Plover. Chevron Australia has contracted the vessel to provide marine logistics support to its Barrow Island and Wheatstone assets, located off the coast of Western Australia. MMA will support assets critical to producers of natural gas in Western Australia and liquified natural gas (LNG) in the Asia Pacific region, which is also home to one of the world’s largest Carbon Capture and Storage systems.

The vessel will undergo an extensive modification program to enable the carriage of up to 90 TEU (20ft-equivalent unit sea containers) and provide superior operational efficiency and reliability. Featuring advanced technologies such as high-performance hull coatings leading to reduced biofouling and therefore increased fuel efficiency, the vessel contributes to emissions reductions aspirations for both Cyan and its client.
