Ocean Motion Technologies (OMT) has successfully conducted a commercial field deployment in Puget Sound, Washington, in collaboration with the Ocean Research College Academy (ORCA Everett Community College). The September-2025 deployment signifies a major milestone for OMT’s small-scale wave energy technology, demonstrating its reliability, versatility, and readiness for commercial use.

The field campaign showcased OMT’s Surface Wave Energy Converter (S-WEC) system, which powers oceanographic sensors from wave energy. Operating under real-world maritime conditions, the system will sustain power generation for the deployment period and continue to perform during high sea states, confirming its ability to provide persistent, off-grid power at sea.
