On May 23, 2019, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship located in Fall River, MA as part of UMass Dartmouth, is hosting an important conference on Ocean Energy in New England: Wind & Water. “We are bringing together professionals in offshore wind, tidal and wave energy to compare notes, share lessons learned and discuss needed innovations to advance all forms of marine energy”, said Maggie Merrill, conference manager.
Representatives from Orsted Wind, Vineyard Wind, ORPC, Resolute Marine, Verdant Power and many others will provide commentary and insight into challenges, opportunities and commonalities in developing all forms of ocean energy.

In 2001, UMass Dartmouth opened the Advanced Technology Manufacturing Center (ATMC) in Fall River to encourage and support technology-focused businesses. In 2015, the ATMC reviewed and refined its mission to provide more experiential opportunities for UMass Dartmouth students and faculty and more proactively build economic development in the region. The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (formerly ATMC) has graduated dozens of successful start-ups in the fields of marine technology, clean technology and biomedical engineering.
