DeepOcean Appoints Øyvind Mikaelsen as New CEO

Mr. Mikaelsen was most recently Executive Vice President at Subsea7, and has 30 years of experience in the global subsea business holding various senior executive roles. Current DeepOcean interim CEO Ottar K. Mæland returns to his responsibilities as COO.

Øyvind Mikaelsen began his career in the oil and gas industry with Kvaerner Rosenberg A/S in 1988. He then moved to Norske Shell before joining Subsea 7 in 1992. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Trondheim in Norway. Øyvind Mikaelsen starts his position on May 2nd 2018 and will be based in Haugesund, Norway.
