Dr. Thorpe will take charge of managing and coordinating all aspects of CSA’s proposal efforts and provide technical and scientific editing support for the diverse studies produced by CSA scientists.
Dr. Thorpe comes to CSA with an extensive background in all aspects of proposal and project management. After completing her studies at King’s College, London, she was the Senior Biologist with a team from the University of Surrey, UK, that developed a water quality management strategy for small island resources in the Caribbean for the Overseas Development Agency. She then spent 14 years as a Research Biologist at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she developed proposals and acquired government and non-government funding to conduct commercial and recreational fisheries-based research. Dr. Thorpe relocated to Florida in 2011, where she garnered extensive experience as a Science Editor, conducting technical and scientific editing and peer reviews for manuscript journal submissions.
