MTS ROV Committee Announces 2017 Scholarship Winners

Alex Miller, Hawkins Williams, and Alex Dewar have been selected as recipients of the Marine Technology Society’s 2017 ROV Committee Scholarships. In addition, Nicholas Orndorff received MTS ROV Committee MATE Center Scholarship.

Alex Miller was awarded $5,000 and will be attending MIT majoring in Ocean Engineering. Hawkins Williams was awarded $2,500 and attends Texas A&M Galveston where he is pursuing an Ocean Engineering degree. Alex Dewar received $2,500 and attends Dalhousie University studying Electrical Engineering. As winner of the MTS ROV Committee MATE Center (Marine Advanced Technology Education) Scholarship, Nicholas Orndorff will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering received $5,000.

All recipients will be recognized during the Awards Presentations at Underwater Intervention ’18 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Since 1994 the MTS ROV Committee has awarded over $500,000 to deserving students who have an interest in Remotely Operated Vehicles. Scholarship applications for 2018 must be postmarked by April 15, 2018. Details on how to apply and additional information on the MTS ROV Committee can be found here.
