Shane’s career in civil engineering consultancy spanned more than 13 years, marked by a steady rise from graduate engineer to partner. Known for his expertise in marine civils design, project management, and commercial leadership, he has helped shape some of the Northern Isles’ most significant infrastructure projects—from Mair’s Pier and Dales Voe South in Lerwick to the proposed Scapa Deep Water Quay and Hatston Harbor expansions in Orkney. Earlier in his career, Shane gained valuable experience working in Aberdeen and Southampton, developing his technical knowledge and insight into ports, harbors, and civil engineering.
In his new role, Shane will lead the development and execution of major contracts, oversee governance, and support the delivery of larger, more complex projects across all departments, while contributing to Ocean Kinetics’ continued technical excellence and client-focused approach.
John Henderson, Managing Director of Ocean Kinetics, said: “Shane’s technical expertise, commercial acumen, and proven leadership will be a huge asset as we continue to grow. His breadth of experience and track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects make him the perfect addition to our team.”
Shane said: “I’m really looking forward to working with the Ocean Kinetics team to procure and deliver projects that bring lasting value to our clients, stakeholders, and wider communities.”
