ODE Appoints Korea Country Manager to New Seoul Office

International engineering and technical service provider ODE has appointed Jinho Paik as its Korea Country Manager in conjunction with the opening of its new Seoul office in South Korea.

Mr. Paik will join ODE as part of the company’s wider expansion into the APAC region which, over recent years, has seen the establishment of company representatives and offices in Taiwan, Japan, and Vietnam. As Korea Country Manager, Mr. Paik will oversee all engineering services in the country, focusing on the pursuit and successful completion of projects and the integration of ODE into the Korean market as a consultant and engineering partner.

Mr. Paik brings considerable technical knowledge and project management experience to ODE, having worked for Samsung Heavy Industries for over 10 years across Korea, UK and Australia as an Engineering Manager, Project Manager and Representative. Throughout his career, he has applied his in-depth understanding and hands-on experience of the energy sector to effectively deliver a variety of offshore wind and oil & gas projects in Korea and the wider region.

ODE’s entrance to the Korean market is supported by an established APAC team and a wealth of engineering support from the London and Taipei offices. With an offshore wind track record extending over 20 years – and including projects such as the Formosa 2 and Hai Long offshore wind farms – ODE possesses considerable expertise that will aid the delivery of fixed bottom and floating wind in Korea.

Regarding his recent appointment, Jinho Paik commented, “I am pleased to be joining ODE at a point of sustained expansion for the company and at such a promising time for offshore wind in Korea. I am confident that ODE’s vast experience and expertise will make a huge contribution to Korea offshore wind sector and look forward to helping develop ODE’s growth in this country and to then ensure a continued and successful presence there.”

David Robertson, Head of Renewables, commented, “We are proud of our commitment to the emerging Korean wind industry through our appointment of Jinho Paik and the expansion of our office in Seoul. Mr Paik’s position is an intrinsic part of ODE’s future and his skillset will be key to our success. Korea is set to provide plentiful opportunities for the renewables sector, and we look forward to operating from the country’s capital.”
