Tampnet’s subsea fiber infrastructure and 5G coverage in the Gulf of Mexico also provide connectivity and coverage to FirstNet, the US public safety network. By building additional 5G coverage on the drillships working in the Gulf of Mexico, the drilling contractor in question will also become a major contributor to increased FirstNet coverage and improved safety for its crew and the general public.
