Van Ameyde Marine has announced the appointment of Ben Sturrock, formerly of Allseas, as Head of Marine Services for its UK operations, strengthening the company’s senior technical leadership across its UK marine consultancy and surveying operations.

Ben brings extensive experience in offshore and marine operations, with a strong track record in delivering complex marine services across the oil & gas, renewables, shipping, and loss-prevention sectors. His background spans vessel assurance, marine risk advisory, and offshore project support, including rig moves, pipelay, heavy-lift operations, subsea work, and marine system assessments.

A member of SOMWS and a graduate in Nautical Science and Maritime Operations, Ben has developed deep expertise across a wide range of technical disciplines, including marine warranty, oil spills, casualty investigations, and project cargo operations. His practical, solutions-driven approach is underpinned by years of hands-on offshore experience and a strong understanding of risk, claims, and incident response.

In his new role, Ben will lead Van Ameyde Marine’s UK marine services team, overseeing technical delivery, supporting key client engagements, and further developing the company’s capability across marine assurance, surveying, and offshore support services.

Chris Boyd, Managing Director of Van Ameyde Marine in the UK, commented: “Ben brings deep operational knowledge and a practical approach to marine service delivery. His experience and leadership will be instrumental in strengthening our capability and ensuring we continue to provide trusted, independent, and technically robust advice to our clients.”

Ben Sturrock added: “Van Ameyde Marine has a strong reputation for technical excellence and responsive service in the UK. I am delighted to be joining the business and look forward to working with the team to further develop the marine services offering and support clients across a broad range of projects.”
