Work Starts at £30m Northumberland Energy Park Site

Advance Northumberland have reached a major milestone in the redevelopment of the former Blyth Power Station Enterprise Zone, where work has now begun, following a groundbreaking ceremony of the site of Northumberland Energy Park and Energy Central.

The main purpose of this activity is to maximize opportunities to attract investment from theoffshore energy sector, particular in light of the UK Governments recent offshore wind sector deal.

Recognized as a strategic UK port development site, Northumberland Energy Park is primed to capitalize on offshore energy projects in theNorth Sea and beyond.

The work will bring the site back into use, creating new jobs and further investment to Blyth and boosting the regional economy.

 

Located on the Blyth Estuary, Energy Central is a fully operational hub made up of world-leading organizaions, skills and infrastructure, making it one of Europe’s outstanding investment destinations for those operating in the oil and gas, offshore renewable energy and subsea industries.
