Crossing the Bridge Between Finance and the Blue Economy

Are you a researcher working in fisheries, coral reefs, mangroves, coastlines, or other ocean assets? How about a financier looking to invest in maritime sectors and ocean conservation? Or perhaps you are someone involved in the seafood, shipping, or energy industries?

One team of financial, science and media experts is committed to building bridges between the financial and maritime communities.

The Ocean Assets Institute is a Swiss-based, non-profit research group to support investment in healthy oceans and coastal communities. They were founded in 2016 with two missions:

  • Engage with companies and financiers for sustainability
  • Support sustainable investment in maritime sectors and marine conservation.

Their current mandate is helping the EU’s DG MARE evaluate maritime innovators for funding and raising awareness among investors in the Blue Economy. To kick off this effort, they are holding an invitation by request event on 3 May 2018 in Paris, France. To request an invitation, click here.
