Okeanus Adds Deepwater Rental Equipment to Its Rental Pool

Okeanus Science & Technology, LLC (Okeanus) announces that it has expanded its rental pool of deepwater oceanographic equipment.

The new equipment includes the following items: SeaBird Electronics SBE-32 12-position 10L Carousel Water Sampler, SBE-19+V2 CTD, SBE-43 Dissolved Oxygen Sensors, AMT GmbH pH Sensors, WetLabs ECO-FLNTU Chlorophyll/Turbidity Sensors, and General Oceanics 10L “GO-Flo” Bottles

The added equipment can collect volumes of water of up to 120 liters per cast and allows water column profiling and data collection regarding conductivity, temperature and density (CTD), pH, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll, and turbidity measurements at depths of up to 6,000 meters. The equipment can be operated in real-time from its vessel of deployment or be programmed to take readings and samples at pre-determined depths within the water column.

IMG 4765Benton LeBlanc, President of Okeanus said, “Our customers have expressed a need to be able to conduct water profiling and sampling in deeper water. We have assembled an array of tools that will enable them to do just that. Our goal is to provide state-of-the-art, turnkey rental solutions that will help our customers accomplish their missions safely and efficiently without having to worry about the burden of the costs of ownership of these complex assets.”

The Okeanus rental portfolio includes a full range of oceanographic equipment along with launch and recovery equipment that can be pre-configured to ensure each mission’s equipment needs are met in a turnkey solution.

LeBlanc continued, “We can build equipment packages that include our sediment samplers and provide a full suite of equipment to support any environmental survey or oceanographic research mission worldwide.”
