Industry body, Subsea UK, will be seeking to enhance its business networks between Australian and British companies to exploit current oil and gas developments at this year’s AOG (Australasia Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference), which takes place from 13 – 15 March 2019.
Now in its 38th year, the conference theme, ‘An Energy Shift’, will highlight the changing trends in the industry, including the rising oil and gas market, new uses for liquified natural gas (LNG) and renewables.
Under the Subsea UK banner, four British companies – Rotech Subsea Limited, Ashford Instrumentation Limited, Viper Innovations Limited and Neptune Engineering will display their products and services to oil and gas companies, service providers, engineers, technical professionals and suppliers.
Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK said: “As the sixth most powerful country in the Asia-Pacific region and the 13th largest economy in the world, Australia boasts an outstanding economic track record, which offers a wealth of opportunities for the UK subsea sector.
“Recent reports from the government show LNG exports have risen by 41% overall. In addition, with all Australian states agreeing to set renewable energy targets between 2020 and 2050, the country is at the forefront of achieving fully renewable energy. Since 2018, it is predicted the sector will create $11.1m investment and over 6,000 jobs.
“UK companies must take full advantage of these opportunities, to explore ways of exporting their technology and expertise. We will be representing all our members at AOG 2019 and looking for opportunities to help them break into the Australasian market.”
Featuring over 250 exhibiting companies and 8,000 global visitors, AOG is one of the largest events of its kind in the southern hemisphere and encourages delegates to discuss key issues, stimulate new ways of thinking and explore future subsea developments.
The conference aims to examine and emphasise the national and international challenges and issues facing subsea development and exploration. AOG 2019 will also include international keynote presentations, case study presentations, technical updates, one-to-one meetings and panel discussions across the three-day event.
