Fulan Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd has announced that CLB Ai Lan Yi Hao (AL-1) successfully completed the installation of the first circuit of the 500 kV export cable for the Yangjiang Fanshi-1 Offshore Windfarm Development Project in Guangdong, China.

The Fanshi-1 Project includes two circuits of the 500 kV export cable between the offshore substation and the interim compensation station; the length of each circuit is about 80 km, which breaks the record of the longest 500 kV AC subsea cable in the industry. This sets a new benchmark for the deep-water development vision of the China Domestic OWF market.

This is also the first track record for Fulan Offshore to install the 500 kV HVAC subsea cable. The 2nd circuit has been loaded onto a cable lay vessel with the more powerful DP2 system against the severe conditions in the winter season. The target is to get the Project commissioned before the end of 2025. The 500 kV subsea cable technology is becoming mature and prevailing in the Chinese domestic OWF industry.
