Prysmian has been selected as the preferred bidder for the high voltage (HDVC) cable interconnector project ‘Eastern Green Link 4’ by the GB transmission owners, SP Transmission plc and National Grid Electricity Transmission plc.

Contract negotiations are ongoing, and further communication will be made in due course. The value of the award is expected to be approximately €2 billion.

The project, which will run between Scotland and England via a route in the North Sea, will play a central role in further enhancing the energy security of the United Kingdom. Eastern Green Link 4 will be part of future-proofing the British energy grid while facilitating the transition to clean and more affordable energy.

Prysmian has a long history of delivering major interconnectors in the UK, including the Eastern Green Link 1 & 2 projects and the Viking Link interconnector, which is the longest land and subsea high voltage cable interconnector in the world.
