Huisman Delivers New Pedestal Crane Range to Jumbo Maritime Vessels

Huisman has signed a contract with Dajin Heavy Industry, a leading Chinese manufacturer of offshore wind components, specialized maritime assets and vessels, for the delivery of four 1,200 mt Heavy Lift Pedestal Cranes. The cranes will be installed on two new heavy lift transport vessels currently under construction for Jumbo Maritime, with each vessel being equipped with two cranes.

The project marks the introduction of Huisman’s new Heavy Lift Pedestal Crane range, with Jumbo Maritime becoming the launching customer. The cranes are designed to provide maximum versatility for demanding heavy lift operations worldwide.

The new Huisman Heavy Lift Pedestal Crane range retains the simplicity of a pedestal crane while delivering lifting capacities from 180 mt to 1,200 mt, capabilities typically associated with much larger crane solutions. Its integrated design minimizes maintenance effort, thereby simplifying servicing and helping to maximize vessel availability throughout its operational life.

The cranes for Jumbo are prepared for the future installation of an additional fly jib, enabling a broader scope of operations. The cranes feature a fully electric drive system combined with Huisman’s Power Management System, optimizing energy consumption while maintaining high operational performance and reliability.

The contract builds on a relationship spanning more than 50 years between Huisman and Jumbo Maritime. Throughout this period, the companies have worked together on numerous lifting solutions for the heavy transport, offshore, and maritime industries. This latest project further strengthens that partnership and reflects the confidence placed in Huisman’s technology and expertise.

David Roodenburg, CEO of Huisman, said: “We are grateful to Dajin Heavy Industry for awarding us this contract and proud that Jumbo Maritime has selected our new Heavy Lift Pedestal Crane for these vessels. Our relationship with Jumbo extends back more than 50 years and has resulted in many innovative lifting solutions. I am convinced that these new cranes will support safe, efficient, and sustainable heavy lift operations for decades to come.”
