FairWind, global leader in wind turbine installation and service, has appointed Felipe Ramalho as its first Head of Latin America (LATAM) to drive the business’s growth in the region.

Based in Brazil, Mr. Ramalho is a senior wind energy specialist who brings more than 15 years of experience in the energy sector, spanning legal and operational roles. He joins FairWind from SANY Renewable Energy, where he most recently served as Deputy General Manager for Latin America. Prior to this, he held several senior positions across renewable businesses, including Country Manager and Head of Legal – Brazil and LATAM at turbine manufacturer Nordex Energy.

Latin America has been a key growth area for FairWind, with the business already building a strong portfolio of projects across the region. This includes the successful delivery of two of the largest wind turbine installation projects in Peru and Mexico, respectively, as well as securing main component exchange contracts in Chile.

In his new role, Mr. Ramalho will be responsible for driving regional business growth across Latin America by scaling the local team and developing strategic partnerships with OEMs and asset owners. He will also strengthen FairWind’s core business lines across wind turbine installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, and blade repair.

Mr. Ramalho commented: “I’m excited by the opportunity to lead such a specialized service provider at a pivotal time for the wind sector in Latin America. FairWind’s service-oriented model and global reputation were a key attraction to the position. I look forward to working closely with the regional leadership team to ensure its high execution excellence, strong safety benchmarks, and cost-effective solutions are delivered for our customers in-country.”

Armando Barradas, President and Head of Region Americas, said: “Latin America is one of the most dynamic wind energy markets in the world right now, and as the region’s installed turbine base matures and new assets come online, OEMs and asset owners are increasingly seeking alternatives to increase performance and extend asset life.

“Felipe is exactly the kind of leader we need to capitalize on this opportunity. His track record in business development and operational management, combined with his deep local network, positions him exceptionally well to drive our expansion and ensure we’re delivering the highest standards of service to customers across the region.”

FairWind’s appointment of Mr. Ramalho is the latest step in the company’s ongoing global growth strategy, which has seen the business establish partnerships and expand its service capabilities across key wind energy markets worldwide.
