OMS International Signs MOU to Enter the Taiwanese Offshore Wind Market

U.K. subsea services professional company OMS International, a subsidiary of OMMH (Offshore Marine Management Holdings) Group, has entered the Taiwanese offshore wind market, by signing an MOU with Alliance Energy Co. Ltd.

OMSiThe Taiwanese government’s ambitious policy for developing a capacity of 9GW offshore wind from 2026 to 2031 has prompted OMSi to test the waters in the booming APAC region. The main areas of focus will be subsea operational project support and O&M services within the growing Taiwanese market.

OMS international, part of the OMMH Group established in 2003, is a professional veteran in the offshore services field. The company’s core businesses include offshore survey, offshore subsea construction support (including both foundation installation and subsea cable laying related works) and offshore O&M. OMSi Taiwan’s CEO, Mr. Koh Meng Guan, has more than 35-years’ experience in both the offshore oil-and-gas and wind farm construction services industries. Koh is familiar with foundation and sea cable related services and marine operations coordination from his background. OMSi Taiwan is confident in providing clients in Taiwan immediate and qualified services with local knowledge and experience.

OMSi Taiwan’s investment strategy is to combine Taiwanese local resource with offshore experience, capability and assets from the European side of the OMSi business. This will provide a cost-effective solution to clients and the wider Asian Offshore Renewables industry.
