Under the scope of work, Promethean Energy will oversee the plug and abandonment (P&A) of five wells, the decommissioning and removal of two offshore structures, the abandonment of two subsea pipelines, and final site-clearance operations. The project will be executed in compliance with all applicable regulations established by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), now merged into a single bureau—the Marine Minerals Administration (MMA)—within the Department of the Interior, US Coast Guard, and relevant industry standards.
Project activities are scheduled to begin in 2026, with well decommissioning operations expected to commence during the summer season and offshore facilities removal activities planned for 2027.

The project encompasses assets located in the shallow water of the Continental Shelf of the US Gulf and includes the permanent abandonment of mature offshore infrastructure that has reached the end of its productive life. Promethean Energy will provide project management, engineering, regulatory coordination, contractor oversight, HSE management, and execution support throughout the project’s lifecycle. The company will leverage its integrated operating model, combining supply chain optimization, operator-style planning, data-driven continuous improvement, and intensive execution oversight, to deliver execution efficiency and low-cost outcomes, all while diligently maintaining stakeholder alignment.
Promethean Energy has assembled a multidisciplinary project team led by Senior Vice President of Decommissioning Danny Turner as project director, supported by engineering, operations, regulatory, commercial, and HSE professionals with extensive offshore decommissioning experience.
