Proteus Marine Renewables Joins the Ocean Energy Europe Board of Directors

Chief Executive Drew Blaxland will represent Proteus Marine Renewables (PMR) on the Ocean Energy Europe Board of Directors as a new Lead Partner.

PMR is a global leader in marine renewable energy and is one of the longest operating players in the sector, having developed their AR series of tidal turbines (single axis and bottom mounted) over the past 20 years. To date, their technology has generated over 20 GW of electricity.

Proteus Marine Renewables is developing some of the most emblematic projects in the tidal sector:

They provide offshore services to the first large-scale 6MW tidal array, Meygen, in Scotland’s Pentland Firth, installed in 2018, and recently signed an MOU with SKF and GE Vernova to supply 59 MW to MeyGen PLC, bringing the site to at least 65MW this decade
Their Normandie Hydroliennes NH1 Project in France’s Raz Blanchard aims to deploy a 12 MW array of four 3MW tidal turbines in 2027 and won €31 million in support from the EU Innovation Fund.
Most recently, they have deployed the AR1100 system (1.1 MW tidal turbine) in the Naru Strait of the Goto Islands for the Japanese Government.
