Tampnet Lands First Global FPSO Framework Deal with BW Offshore

Tampnet has signed a five-year framework agreement for delivering connectivity across BW Offshore’s FPSO fleet. Building on connectivity services already provided to three Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels, the framework agreement enables delivery of resilient, high-capacity connectivity across offshore operations as BW Offshore advances digitalization across its fleet. The collaboration will drive greater use of real-time data, cloud-based applications, and collaboration between offshore and onshore teams.

“Reliable connectivity is a prerequisite as we continue to digitalize offshore operations,” said Fritz Ekløff, Head of IT & Systems at BW Offshore. “As more of the applications we depend on become cloud-based, efficient stable and secure connectivity becomes increasingly important to how our offshore and onshore teams work together. This agreement gives us a standardized, scalable and resilient foundation across our FPSO fleet—wherever our assets operate.”

FPSOs present a particular connectivity challenge. As large, complex production facilities, they often operate for years in remote locations, while increasingly requiring continuous access to data, software, and onshore expertise. As critical operational applications move to the cloud, reliable and secure connectivity becomes a prerequisite for day-to-day operations and collaboration with teams on land.

The agreement is Tampnet’s first long-term global framework agreement directly with an FPSO company and marks an important step in its positioning within the global FPSO market. “FPSOs are global assets, and connectivity has to follow them,” said Elie Hanna, CEO at Tampnet. “BW Offshore’s decision to select Tampnet across its global fleet is an important recognition of our ability to solve that challenge, giving offshore operators the digital foundation to operate smarter, safer and more efficiently, wherever they are.”

BW Offshore is one of the world’s most experienced FPSO companies, with more than 40 years of experience from developing and operating floating production solutions and more than 40 projects delivered. Under the agreement, Tampnet will provide connectivity tailored to the location and requirements of each FPSO, bringing together the best available connections and managing them as one resilient service.
