The announcement officially brings CSA’s long-established US footprint, deep client relationships across multiple end markets, and a team of 115+ ocean industry professionals—including renowned Subject Matter Experts—to APEM’s expanding international network of environmental consultancy professionals. CSA’s 56-year-long reputation as a leading multidisciplinary environmental survey firm not only strengthens APEM’s applied marine science capabilities but also introduces a new marine operations service to its client offering.

“We are delighted to officially join APEM,” said Kevin Peterson, CEO of CSA Ocean Sciences. “Having partnered with APEM on various projects in recent years, we quickly recognized that our two organizations share very similar cultures and that this seamless technical, operational, and geographic fit would immediately translate into added value for our shared customer base across the globe. By aligning resources and capabilities, the collective focus remains on delivering best-in-class environmental consultancy services underpinned by scientifically robust and reliable data collection and insights that deliver actionable outcomes for our clients.”

For APEM, the integration establishes a strategic new hub in the United States and, with the onboarding of CSA’s regional offices, presents emerging opportunities for the Group in Brazil, Cyprus, Trinidad, Suriname, and Australia.

Leah McGimpsey, CEO of APEM Group and Executive Vice President, Environmental Services Division at Applus+, commented: “We are delighted to welcome CSA Ocean Science to APEM. As an existing partner we know well, bringing the capabilities of the Ocean Sciences team together with the 1,500 technical experts in APEM, will create a powerhouse in the global environmental consulting sector.

Today also marks a major milestone in the development of APEM as we establish a significant footprint in the US to transform our ability to serve clients in North America and other regions globally.

I look forward to seeing the ways in which our combined team can bring our shared client focus and our science and data capabilities to the world’s largest market for environmental services as we expand the breadth of the work we can do for our clients.”

With more than 1,500 environmental consulting and advisory professionals now operating under the APEM Group umbrella, the expanded organization is positioned to deliver larger, more complex projects that require best-in-class marine data collection and analysis to lead energy, infrastructure, and governmental initiatives.

CSA joining APEM Group was first announced in February 2026, with the final transaction completed in June 2026.
