Oceaneering has extended and expanded its agreement for Harris CapRock Communications to deliver managed communications services onboard Oceaneering’s operated fleet of vessels. The agreement was signed during the third quarter of Harris’ fiscal 2016.
Harris CapRock will deploy voice and data services over its new uncontended Time Divisional Multiple Access (TDMA) network. This architecture allows access to committed bandwidth levels at all times – an advancement over traditional contended TDMA networks that share bandwidth across multiple satellite circuits.
The agreement includes initiating services onboard Oceaneering’s multiservice support vessel currently under construction, to be named the Ocean Evolution.
“Harris CapRock not only configured a network design which addresses our bandwidth flexibility needs across our fleet, but also simplified pricing for us with one global rate,” said Mark Stevens, Director of Communications-Global Data Solutions, Oceaneering.
Harris CapRock’s global pricing model is a critical component of the Harris CapRock® One Clear Path™ commitment – offering a robust, always-on communications experience delivered by a secure, optimized network that is supported by a worldwide redundant network infrastructure for a single price worldwide.
