The investment forms part of a funding round alongside new growth partner Mustard Seed + Partners (MS+PARTNERS) and existing backers including EnvisionTech, Nysnø Climate Investment, and Umoe, together with the company’s founders, employees, and early supporters.
The capital will enable Maritime Robotics to expand its production capacity, accelerate international commercialization, and scale its dual-use autonomous sea drone systems to meet surging global demand across both civil and defense sectors.
Addressing Critical Ocean Infrastructure Challenges
The ocean covers more than 70% of the Earth’s surface and is central to global security, trade, energy infrastructure, and climate monitoring. However, traditional crewed operations face rising operational costs, safety hazards, and efficiency constraints.
Purpose-built autonomous sea drones provide a persistent, cost-efficient, and lower-emission alternative. They deliver critical operations at scale—spanning offshore energy maintenance, hydrographic surveying, environmental monitoring, and maritime domain awareness and protection.
Moving from Innovation to Global Scale
Having successfully delivered hundreds of autonomous systems, Maritime Robotics has built one of Europe’s most credible maritime autonomy franchises, proven across civil and defense missions in extreme operational environments. The company has transitioned from early-stage adoption to fleet-level deployments for tier-one industrial and defense clients worldwide.
With a track record in dual-use applications and a clear defense and security roadmap, Maritime Robotics is positioned at the center of European maritime security, domain awareness, and ocean sustainability.
“Partnering with Omnes Capital marks a pivotal moment as we accelerate our international expansion. Across both commercial and defense markets, autonomous systems are transitioning from pilot projects to core operational assets. Omnes Capital’s deep European footprint and track record in scaling technology and infrastructure leaders make them an ideal partner. This investment enables us to scale our production capacity and strengthen our position as a primary European provider of uncrewed maritime systems,” said Vegard Evjen Hovstein, Co-Founder & CEO of Maritime Robotics.
“Maritime Robotics has built one of Europe’s most credible maritime autonomy franchises, tested across civil and defense missions in extreme operational environments. That dual-use track record, combined with a clear defense and security roadmap, positions the company to become a reference for European maritime domain awareness and protection. We have been impressed by Vegard and his team, and we are proud to support them as they build a European leader in uncrewed maritime systems,” said Fabien Collangettes, partner of Omnes Capital.
