Phoenix International Holdings, Inc. (Phoenix) is pleased to announce the hiring of Patrick Keenan as Manager of Special Projects. His responsibilities include overseeing Phoenix’s One Ocean Network alliance with partner underwater service providers: All Sea (http://www.all-sea.com/) and UMC (http://www.umc-int.com/).
Prior to joining Phoenix, Mr. Keenan served as Global Director of Operations for TITAN Salvage. In this role he spent several months in Giglio, Italy during TITAN’s successful refloat of M/V COSTA CONCORDIA.
Before joining the civilian workforce, he served in the United States Navy for thirty years as a diver, salvor, and Engineering Duty Officer. Career assignments include: deck and engineering positions aboard multiple salvage ships, Seventh Fleet Salvage Officer in Singapore, Officer in Charge of Ship Repair Unit Bahrain, Commanding Officer of the Navy Experimental Diving Unit, Director of the Naval Construction and Engineering Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Supervisor of Salvage and Diving and Director of Ocean Engineering at the Naval Sea Systems Command. In 2012, he retired from the U.S. Navy at the rank of Captain.
A registered professional engineer and marine surveyor, Patrick received a BA in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and an MS in Materials Engineering and a Naval Engineer Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research relating to waterborne ship repair was published in the Naval Engineers Journal. He holds a U.S. patent for his invention Method and Apparatus for Thermal Insulation of Wet Shielded Metal Arc Welds and was the 2000 American Society of Naval Engineers Claude A. Jones Award winner for excellence in the field of Naval Engineering.
