Recognizing the importance of nurturing good R&D in the field of marine science, ITOPF has established an annual R&D award. Each year, up to £50,000 will be made available to fund R&D projects that make a valuable contributions to improving the knowledge and understanding of issues related to accidental marine pollution. The purpose of this initiative is to encourage organizations around the world to inspire innovative thinking and to develop ideas that could provide realistic solutions to some of the challenges faced in spill response and environmental monitoring. The deadline for submitting your application is 31st December 2015. All the applications will be reviewed by our committee in January 2016, with the intention to name the Award winner in late February.
