Cougar XT Compact has been selected to support inspection and maintenance operations across Ørsted’s offshore wind portfolio. Combining a compact and flexible design with the power and reliability required for offshore operations, its electric architecture delivers precise control and maneuverability, making it well suited to inspection and intervention work in complex subsea environments.
Ørsted relies on advanced subsea technology to help monitor the integrity of critical infrastructure, including foundations, cables, and other submerged assets. Remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) play a vital role in these operations, enabling efficient inspections and maintenance activities that help maximize asset availability and support energy generation.
The order marks another milestone in the relationship between Saab UK and Ørsted, building on a proven track record of supporting offshore wind operations with reliable and capable robotic systems.
“We are delighted to receive this order from Ørsted. Expanding its Saab Seaeye fleet with a third Cougar system reflects the confidence the company has in our technology and its ability to support inspection and maintenance operations across offshore wind assets,” says Jon Robertson, Seaeye Managing Director at Saab UK.
For more than four decades, Saab UK’s industry-leading Seaeye ROVs have operated in some of the world’s most demanding subsea environments. Cougar XT Compact continues that heritage, delivering proven capability to customers responsible for maintaining the infrastructure that supports the global energy transition.
