At this year’s Assembly, Teledyne CARIS will spotlight its newest innovations, including CARIS AutoChart 2.0, an advanced tool designed to automatically create and update nautical charts with ease. Developed in close collaboration with the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO), AutoChart 2.0 offers a significant leap forward in streamlining paper chart production workflows so that hydrographic offices can focus on new S-100 products.
“AutoChart 2.0 represents a major milestone in the evolution of paper chart production,” said Andy Hoggarth, General Manager. “Our cooperation with UKHO has allowed us to ensure this tool is optimized for real-world, national charting agency requirements. We’re excited to demonstrate how this technology accelerates paper chart creation, enhances accuracy, and offers leading cartographic portrayal through our partnership with the UKHO.”
Dave Tomaney, Chief Operating Officer of the UKHO, said, “All Hydrographic offices face a similar challenge of ensuring the availability of paper charts, whilst demands are changing. The UKHO is delighted to be working with CARIS to develop the tools to do this by automating paper chart production and, crucially, ongoing maintenance—supporting a sustainable future for paper charts.”
Alongside AutoChart, Teledyne CARIS will present the S-100 Data Management System (SDMS), a modular, scalable platform designed to manage, validate, and authenticate S‑57 and S‑100 datasets. SDMS provides status‑driven workflow management, multi‑user access, cloud or local deployment, and integrated validation through the SevenCs Analyzer. It supports advanced features including bulk dataset processing, S‑100 dataset authentication using digital signatures, S‑100 exchange set creation, and integration with CARIS HPD for native S‑57/S‑101 editing.
Teledyne CARIS’s combined presence at the IHO Assembly underscores the organization’s continued commitment to supporting hydrographic offices, national agencies, and commercial partners with fully integrated solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and data interoperability on a global scale.
The IHO Assembly brings together representatives from more than 90 member states to discuss the future of hydrography, ocean mapping, and global charting standards—aligning closely with Teledyne’s mission to advance marine knowledge and navigational safety.
